Southern Vietnam Photography Tour

Sunday 12 – Sunday 26 April 2021

Fantastic news! Starting in 2021 I'll be launching a new tour. - combining the highlights from three tours into one amazing comprehensive tour of the whole of Southern Vietnam.  This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to see and photograph everything from the vast Mekong Delta, the stunning beaches of the coast, the remote highland forests to the bustling streets of Saigon. All my very favorite photographic locations in just two weeks! If you want to create the best, most varied and unique photography portfolio of Southern Vietnam, then this trip is a must for you.

The Photography

In Saigon you will join the crowds at bustling street markets. as they haggle over fruit, vegetables, live fish, fresh seafood and everything else they need for their lunch or dinner. For foodies you won't just enjoy delicious Vietnamese food, you will also visit restaurant kitchens and meet the chefs who prepare it. The city is also home to some of the finest Chinese temples in the region and you will have plenty of time to explore their incense filled interiors. And then there is just Saigon itself: the contrast of old and new architecture, the heaving streets and the smiling people... every step brings another photograph.

Heading deep into the coconut forests of the Mekong delta you will visit some stunning Khmer style Buddhist temples and monasteries and meet some of the saffron robed monks who make them their  home. You will also take to the water and visit some of the local floating markets as well as explore the quiet backwater canals and visit farms and share in the daily lives of the local people.

Traveling North up the coast you will discover vast sand dunes, secluded beaches, remote fishing villages and a blue sea littered with fishing boasts painted every color of the rainbow. There are the ancient temples of the Cham people built on hills overlooking the coast and places where the mountains fall into the sea creating rugged and wild landscapes where the sun rising over distant islands can take your breath away.

Passing through endless plains of green rice fields you will encounter jungle clad mountains surrounded by distant blue peaks before arriving in the cooler Southern highlands. This is an area of scenic  waterfalls and secret valleys where the K'ko people still dance to drums around blazing campfires. Scattered among the alpine forests are flower farms, tea, coffee and silk plantations as well as remote lakes where the locals still use dugout canoes and elephants come to drink. Spend the night in a wooden longhouse and share a meal with a family and join them as they forage for food and check their fish traps.

All this, and much, much more is waiting here for you and you camera... this truly is an exciting chance to create an outstanding portfolio of beautiful and unique images.
